About the Artist... Mike
Domanico has called the Phoenix Valley home since 1954. He attended Maryland
Grade School and Washington High School in Phoenix. Upon graduation he received
an Associates of Art degree in Science from Glendale Community College and then
his Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering, division of
Agricultural Sciences from Arizona State University in 1974. Mike has continued
his education throughout the years focusing on ground water resources. Even
though Mike has an engineering background, his love for art started at a very
early age and continues to be a driving force in his life today.
Throughout
his life Mike has found inspiration for his artwork in the enchanting state of
Arizona, as well as the Southwest. He uses the diverse landscapes of the
Sonoran desert, the wooded forests, and the unique plant and rock formations to
inspire his creations. Mike has a true passion for art and paints from his
soul. Mike does not plan his artwork. When he is inspired, he becomes alive
with excitement and is compelled to transfer his feelings into a visual creation
on canvas. The artwork created is an expression of his feelings, dreams,
beliefs, and passion for life. Mike's art is unique and different; he paints
from the heart. Each finished piece will mesmerize the owner as intense color
and shapes come together to display the beauty of the Southwest.
There are
people who want to be.
There are
people who are.
I AM.
Mike Domanico, 1970
The
statement above is Mike's statement of self and this belief guides him when he
creates his artwork. Mike firmly believes that each piece of artwork be a
reflection of himself and his individual viewpoints created solely for his
personal fulfillment. Each piece is an exclusive one of a kind creation. I
invite you to experience his artwork by viewing the
